It is thrilling to hold the proof in my hands. Reading through Journeys in Kallisor in print has me trembling every time I pick it up. Right now, those trembles are a mix of excitement and trepidation. The fear is mostly of discovering typographical errors. I’ve located one already and I’m irked but I’m glad I found it now before it’s too late. I’m committed to making this as perfect as I can.
I have also had a lot of fun with some merchandising, if you will. I created some bookmarks and business cards with a QR code that will bring everyone here to the blog. For myself, I also ordered a mousepad, which — truth be told — printed up a bit dark. I also have a new iPhone case too, which is really cool. And one other thing, which isn’t quite ready: a poster.
I have always loved the artwork for the book and I had asked Fyodor for a means of printing the scene without the text. He made it possible and I printed up a 2′ x 3′ poster of the battle in progress. All I need to do now is get it framed.
Everything looks amazing!
Maybe I’ll look into T-shirts next!
In case you’re curious, I went with vistaprint.com for all of these goodies. It was easy to use the site and upload the images. I’ve had some friends and family ask about getting their own mousepad and iPhone case, and I intend to look and see if it’s possible to set up some sort of merchandise window. It’s totally just for kicks, but I’d be amazed seeing someone else walking around with a Red Jade themed cell phone cover one day!
